The academy institution “Greenfield University” located along Kaduna-Abuja high way in Chikun Local Government

Has been attacked by gun men with over 300 hundred students kidnapped

“Greenfield University” is the first private university established in the state three years ago. 

The latest incident is the first major attack launch by bandits on community around the 300 female soldiers deployed to the area January this year.

The kaduna state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan confirmed this incident to news men.

According to report the gun men stormed the university last night and sporadically shooting, before taking away some of the students.

The local residents said that the university with about forty students population do not have enough security on ground despite being located in one of the epicenter of kidnappers zone.

A situation which they believe made the bandits gain easy access into the institution, in recent times Kaduna experiencing series of attacks by bandits and assaults on the school.

11th March, in Federal College of Forestery Afaka in the Igabi Local Government of the state where 39 students were kidnapped.

While ten out of the numbers have been released the fate of the others depends on the balance.

Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai has repeatedly insisted that his government will no longer pay for to any kidnappers despite pleading from parents of the abducted students.

The former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)  alleged that the new attacks on the North-western states is due to his government stance that it will not negotiate with bandits.
