Fear grips former Ondo deputy over arrest~details below
Hon. Agboola Ajaye deputy governor of Ondo State who held in possession of official vehicles after leaving the office for two months has agreed to let go of the vehicles
In recollection governor Rotimi Akeredolu through his senior special assistant on special duties and strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale
had made a threat to Ajayi to embarrass him if he doesn’t return four official vehicles in his possession
and further to say he would press charges against Ajayi and other former political appointees who failed to return government properties in their possession.
But Ajayi reciprocated through media aid Sowore opined that he is in possession of only two vehicles and not four and the two vehicles with him are his statutory benefits
According to him one of the vehicles being demanded from him is currently at the mechanic workshop in Okitipupa
While the other one is still with the dealer since full payment has not been made yet.
But according to source Ajayi has agreed to return the two official vehicles following the 48 hours ultimatum issued to him by the state police command.
According to report the police command dutifully informed Ajayi that failure to return the official vehicles within the speculated hours will attract the raiding of his houses at lagos, Abuja, Akure, kiribo, Okitipupa.
In a statement by Ajayi in Akure by his media aid Allen Sowore saying “Much Ado about nothing: The Ondo State Government must put their house in order.
Agreed to return the official vehicles and stop the harassment ” by the members inner circle of the governor.
In recollection to Ajayi statements, in my farewell message to the good people of Ondo on 24th February 2021
I wished governor Oluwa Rotimi Akeredolu SAN and his deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa success in their administration.
“I stand by that, as a citizen of the state it is in my own interest and the interest of all of us that this administration demonstrates good governance, transparent policy-making and effective change.
But unfortunately members of the inner circle of the governor have decided to priorities their time to harass me on a number of issues, most especially with the regards to the returning of the vehicles.
I had hoped these petty interactions would have ceased after the recent inauguration.
“To be clear– if the return of these two vehicles will make the administration focus more on advance of pressing needs, challenges, predicament facing the state most especially insecurity, the absence of governance and unpaid salaries across
the entirety of Ondo public sector– then I’m ready to make the sacrifice and return the two vehicles which they so desperately need
Added that “I am not the problem of the administration, I have moved on.
