Scientists have developed a light reflecting “ultra-white” paint

According to scientist the paint could negate the need for air conditioning and could also reduce carbon emissions if used on mass scale.

The paint was developed by engineers from Purdue University in Indiana as part of a six years project

The paint is capable of reflecting up to 98.1% of sunlight and therefore has the ability to cool buildings according to a press release

Unlike the usual paint the ultra-white paint is made with a chemical compound called the “Barium Sulfate” which is also used in the production of cosmetics and photo paper.
