Biafra tension–Gov Ikpeazu to FG, negotiate with Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB~details below
The situation in the South Eastern Nigeria had worsen as social unrest escalate. The Indiginous People of Biafran (IPOB) sit at home order remain absolute.
Mean while, following the social unrest; the governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, has voice out that the government as a matter of urgency needs to engage with the leader of IPOB Nnamdi Kanu and his group the Indigenous People of Biafra, to ameliorate the tension in the region.
Ikpeazu explained that the face-off between the federal government, Kanu and IPOB can be resolved amicably on a negotiation table.
The governor also warned that Nigeria was ‘sitting on a keg of gunpowder’ if the group is not properly engaged.
However, the governor while speaking with Sun, said “negotiation between the federal government and Kanu’s group would bring about peace and justice in the Southeast and lessen the rising tension.
Additionally Ikpeazu noted that, some of the agitations of IPOB are legitimate if closely scrutinized and should be listened to and address it amicably.
