Free Train Rides: NRC Implements President Tinubu’s Directive

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has initiated free train rides across all its passenger services in compliance with President Bola Tinubu’s directive.

In a press release, the NRC announced the commencement of the free train services starting from Thursday, December 21, 2023, to Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Passengers are advised to obtain their complimentary tickets exclusively through the online e-ticketing platforms. It’s important to note that tickets will not be issued at any of the corporation’s train stations, and commuters must possess a ticket to board the train.

The NRC emphasizes the importance of passengers complying with security personnel and following the boarding instructions provided by officials.

“We enjoin commuters to be orderly, obey security personnel, and adhere to the boarding instructions of the NRC and its officials while at the station and on-board the trains,” the statement concluded.
