In Kurmi village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State, the police, aided by vigilante members, apprehended five individuals for illegal possession of AK-47 rifles.
The suspects, all aged between 20 and 25 and hailing from Kakumi village, were identified as Sharhabilu Dahiru, Abubakar Tukur, Kasamanu Abdullahi, Abdulrahman Shu’aibu, and Sulaiman Sanusi.
They confessed to stealing the firearm from Jamilu Lawal’s residence in their village. Lawal was brought in for further investigation regarding the unlawful possession of the weapon.
As the inquiry continues, all suspects remain in custody.
