EFCC Accuses Former Anambra Governor of Evading Court Summons in ₦40 Billion Fraud Case
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused former Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, of avoiding court summons regarding ₦40 billion fraud charges against him.
The EFCC’s lawyer stated that they faced difficulties serving him documents. Despite efforts, they couldn’t reach Obiano’s lawyer, as the office was locked.
They managed to serve him in court eventually. The court agreed to hear Obiano’s motion about jurisdiction on March 13. Obiano, who served two terms, faces allegations of embezzling ₦40 billion state funds.
