Minister of Finance Olawale Edun blamed the Central Bank of Nigeria, under former President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, for printing N22.7 trillion in Ways and Means loans, causing the current inflation and economic challenges.

Speaking to the Senate Committee on Finance, Edun criticized the aimless printing of money during the previous administration.

He pledged to audit the CBN’s printing activities over the past eight years under the Tinubu government. Edun emphasized the need to address inflation by raising funds through market measures and repaying the CBN.
