Minister Nyesom Wike Vows to End Open Grazing in Abuja Amid Cattle Roaming Concerns

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has promised to stop open grazing in Abuja.

He expressed concern about cattle moving freely within the city and assured residents that measures are being taken to prevent this.

Wike has engaged with various stakeholders to address the issue, and the administration is also working on multiple approaches to improve security in the FCT.

Additionally, they are partnering with private transportation companies to enhance safety. During a meeting with the Belgian Ambassador to Nigeria, Daniel Bertrand, Wike’s commitment to tackling cattle roaming was well-received.

Bertrand also expressed interest in attracting investors from Belgium to support the development of Nigeria’s capital city.
