NFF President Denies Eguavoen’s Interim Appointment and Peseiro Contract Extension Talks

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, refutes claims of Austin Eguavoen’s appointment as interim coach of the Super Eagles after Jose Peseiro’s departure.

Peseiro confirmed leaving after leading Nigeria to second place in the 2023 African Cup of Nations. While Eguavoen previously coached the team, Gusau denies his interim appointment.

Additionally, Gusau denies reports of discussions with Peseiro to extend his contract.
