Nikki Haley Withdraws from 2024 Republican Presidential Race, Cedes Nomination to Trump

Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and UN ambassador appointed by Trump, has withdrawn from the Republican presidential race for the November 2024 elections. She ceded the GOP nomination to Donald Trump.

Despite not endorsing Trump, Haley urged him to appeal to moderate-minded supporters. Her exit marks the end of a dozen candidates who ran against Trump but never directly challenged him.

Haley’s persistence made history as the first woman to win a GOP presidential primary. She secured her first state victory by narrowly defeating Trump in Vermont.
