President Tinubu Suspends REA Managing Director Over Alleged Fraud
President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, and three other executive directors over an alleged ₦1.2 billion fraud.
Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, stated that the decision followed findings from an investigation, with some funds already recovered.
A wider probe has been ordered. The suspended executives include Olaniyi Alaba Netufo, Barka Sajou, and Sa’adatu Balgore.
An interim team has been appointed to manage the agency. Tinubu emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in government service.
