It is the year’s dry season period in Nigeria, as expected fire fighters are required to sit up to respond dutifully to every fire incident that may occur in the country.

Following the report few days of a Radio Station being gut by engulfed by fire, another report has been was uptained where another News media house gut fire in Abuja.

 A session of a popular news media house “PREMIUM TIMES” head office in Abuja gut fire on Friday, damaging the newspaper’s newsroom and destroying properties worth millions of naira from the estimation.

According to report, the fire started from the office of the newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Musikilu Mojeed, shortly after he left for jumaat prayers.

A blooming thick smoke biĺlowing from the office alerted editors next door to the incident, where they had to forced the door open but were pushed back by the bloom of the smoke.

Meanwhile, the building was evacuated as staff and witnesses used fire extinguishers to battle the razing fire, they made a rapid phone call to the federal and FCT fire services that later came to subdue the fire incident 48 minutes later.

The fire destroyed the office of the Editor-in-Chief and sprayed soot on the newsroom and other offices as a number of items computers, printers, furniture, documents, as well as the personal effects of Mr Mojeed were all destroyed.

According to the staffs who were on ground they said the fire which started at about 1.30 p.m., forced the newspaper to cancel its weekly editorial meeting.

As staff members were baffled by the suddenness of the fire. Though fire personnels suspected an electrical fault as to be the cause.

“We noticed smoke billowing from the Editor-in-Chief’s office about 20 minutes after he left for the mosque. It was all so sudden and the damage was so severe,” he said.

However, Mr Abidoye said the incident has been reported to the authorities for formal investigation.
