INSECURITY– many lost their lives during the weekend by bandits attack~details below

 From the weekly insecurity report in Nigeria over 31 persons had lost their life from various attacks across the states as insecurity worsens and ravaging the country.

On the breakdown has shown that 10 military personnel and 21 civilians were the victims of the attacks by non-state actors.

According to the figures generated by ‘Premium Times’ the total number of people killed shows a slight decline from that of the previous week when at least 41 persons were killed. It, however, shows an increase in the casualties on the side of security personnel. 

Only one security official, an officer of the State Security Service (SSS), was reported killed in the previous week.

Mean while, it was allerge that 80 percent of the attacks this week were perpetrated by bandits as focused on the North-west zone of nigeria.

So far no casualties were reported from the South-south and South-west, all other geopolitical zones recorded at least one case.

Following the security reports on Tuesday, “A cumulative number of six persons were reportedly killed in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State following a gun battle between security operatives and unknown gunmen.

So many persons were reported to have sustained various injuries during the attack and it lasted for over one hours 48 minutes.

The incident, according to the report, occurred at Odata area where the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) went for a campaign rally.

In the North-east, four soldiers lost their lives while foiling a terrorist attack launched by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) on Ngamdu, in a town bordering Yobe and Borno states.

Following the report, an officer, while attempting to provide cover for his battalion of troops against the ISWAP elements, was shot at the spot.

The officer shot, it was reported, sustained sever injury and was taken to a military medical facility and is fast recuperating.

On Tuesday from the security reports, Six soldiers lost their lives on Wednesday afternoon while trying to repel an attack by bandits on travellers in Zamfara State.

According to the Witnesses, said the bandits also abducted many motorists during the incident which occurred on a road leading to Gusau, between Kucheri and Wanzamai in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

Gunmen on Thursday attacked Nkiendonwro village in the Miango District of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State and killed at at least three persons.

According to the report, a father and his two children who boarded a motorcycle on their way to the farm were killed.

on Saturday, andits invaded Saka-jiki village in Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, murdered 12 persons cold blood and burnt down several houses and shops.

Many vehicles, including a patrol vehicle belonging to a security outfit, were set ablaze by the attackers.
