On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Kogi State Governor and Presidential hopeful of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) will pick up his expression of interest and nomination papers.

On Tuesday morning, the governor was claimed to have paid for the N100 million forms.

Yemi Kolapo, Director, Media and Publicity, Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Organisation, made the announcement in a statement.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, the Kogi governor revealed his presidential ambitions in Abuja’s Eagle Square.

“With the payment for the forms, Governor Bello’s thronging fans may rest confident that he would be on the ballot in the 2023 presidential election,” the statement adds. The amount of APC governors, leaders, and stakeholders who have shown strong support for our principal’s candidacy has given us great hope. He isn’t renowned for disloyalty, we say again. He has always been very devoted to his family, and Nigeria has always been his top priority.

“Though the campaign has just just begun, Governor Bello has continuously been at the forefront of the competition. He’s shown this once more by being the first to pay for the paperwork.

“In the interest of the nation, we encourage delegates, and indeed all Nigerians, to avoid divisive storylines and select the best of the bunch.” We have no doubt that our tried and trusted National Working Committee members would prioritize the party’s and Nigeria’s interests in their actions around the election of the APC’s next flag bearer.”

Bello is running for the APC presidential nomination alongside Bola Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos State and a National Leader of the party, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Sen. Orji Kalu, the former governor of Abia, and others.
