A Nigerian police in Uniform holding a weapon in a viral video singing and dancing promoting cultism has been arrested~details below

A video of a Nigerian police officer in uniform and with a gun trending all over social media as he was seen singing and dancing and promoting cultism has been arrested by the Nigeria police force.

The police man identified as Corporal Mathew Isaac was attached to the Ebonyi State Police command  

Police spokesman CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday said, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba condemned the misconduct of the officer.

while speaking said “the act of the police officer in question which is clearly calculated to portray NPF negatively, is a discreditable conduct in line with the provision of the first schedule to regulation 370 of the police regulation act”, he said.

“His actions equally violated the provisions of the NPF social media police (SMP), Penal laws and other extant laws regulating the conduct discipline of all police officers.

“The Inspector-General of Police IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+) NPM, fdc has ordered the commissioner of Ebonyi State Police command to detail the command’s OC Provost to hand over the erring officer to the Force Provost Marshall for necessary disciplinary actions.

The IGP however warned officers to ensure total compliance with the laws guiding the force as any breach would be severely sanctioned.
