Federal Government Assures Swift Justice for Plateau Killings

The Federal Government has expressed a strong commitment to ensuring justice for the victims of the Christmas Eve killings in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State. Gunmen carried out a brutal attack, resulting in the tragic loss of over 150 lives.

In a statement released on Thursday, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, the Minister of Police Affairs, conveyed the government’s determination to apprehend both collaborators and prime suspects involved in this heinous crime against humanity. Gaidam emphasized, “Our collective resolve is to ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.”

“The loss of innocent lives is a tragedy that touches us all, and we stand united with the people of Plateau State during this difficult time,” he added.

Gaidam urged citizens to stand together, cooperate with security agencies, and provide vital information to assist in the swift arrest of the perpetrators who are currently on the run. The government recognizes the severity of the security challenges facing Plateau State and the nation, pledging continued collaboration with stakeholders to address these issues.

Despite the tragic incident, the Federal Government remains steadfast in its commitment to ongoing police reforms, aimed at enhancing professionalism and delivering top-notch service to the Nigerian people. The minister affirmed, “We will not allow such incidents to deter us from our mission.”

The government also extended prayers for the quick recovery of the injured citizens and the security agencies that worked bravely to secure the affected villages.
