Lucky Aiyedatiwa Emerges Acting Governor of Ondo State

After Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu announced that he was going on medical leave, Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s supporters celebrated his nomination as the acting governor of Ondo State on social media.

The House of Assembly of Ondo State declared Aiyedatiwa as interim governor after Akeredolu’s return to office and signing of a bill.

Previous attempts to impeach Aiyedatiwa were put on hold by several judicial measures.

The Speaker of the Assembly said that Aiyedatiwa will take over as governor in the interim until Akeredolu’s medical vacation starts on December 13, 2023.
