Power Minister, Bayo Adelabu, has made a significant decision to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2023 governorship elections in Oyo State. Initially, he had left the APC to contest on the platform of the Accord Party.

In a letter addressed to the state chairman and leaders of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Adelabu announced his intention to officially declare his return at a ceremony scheduled for December 15, 2023, at the APC Secretariat in Oke Ado.

Part of the letter reads, “I left the party alongside my faithful and loyal followers at the peak of the crisis rocking the party emanating from the manner the state congress and consequently the primary elections were administered. However, having consulted with our National Leaders and National Executive, I have decided to return to the Party.”

Adelabu, who is currently serving as the Minister of Power in the Federal Republic of Nigeria under President Tinubu’s administration, is looking forward to establishing a strong working relationship with the State Executive, Party Leaders, and all members of the party. This move is seen as a step towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and the party. In particular, Adelabu aims to lead an APC-led Government in Oyo State in 2027, with the goal of achieving unprecedented development for the state.
