Alex Badeh, the newly appointed Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), has pledged to collaborate with relevant agencies to prioritize safety and prevent accidents in air, land, and water transportation across Nigeria.

During his formal takeover ceremony from his predecessor, Akin Olateru, in Abuja on Monday, Badeh expressed his vision, emphasizing the goal of making Nigerian skies the safest in Africa.

Commending President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, for his appointment, Badeh outlined his commitment to implementing the minister’s five-point agenda, with a primary focus on strict compliance with safety regulations and enhancing Nigeria’s rating by the International Civil Aviation Organization.

As a seasoned aviation professional and a concerned citizen, Badeh acknowledged the impact of accidents, emphasizing his dedication to ensuring no journey ends in sorrow. He envisioned a future where all modes of transportation in Nigeria are undertaken with the utmost assurance of safety.

Badeh stated, “My vision for the NSIB is to be an agency defined not by the tragedies we investigate, but by the transformative advancements in transport safety that we inspire.”

He emphasized a proactive approach, intending to prevent accidents rather than merely reacting to them, further underscoring his commitment to enhancing safety across various modes of transportation in the country.
