Nyesom Wike to Launch Asokoro District Road Projects: Enhancing Capital Infrastructure

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike is scheduled to formally inaugurate road rehabilitation projects in the Asokoro District of Abuja on Thursday, December 7.

He has undertaken this action in order to ensure the continuous operation of critical services in the nation’s capital and to carry out his commitment to the maintenance and development of public infrastructure.

In order to optimise traffic circulation, enhance visual appeal, and improve accessibility, the road infrastructure in the Asokoro district, renowned for its strategic value and significance in the city, will be extensively renovated.

Director of Press Operations for the Federal Capital Territory Anthony Ogunleye said in a statement on Wednesday that the endeavour exemplifies the minister’s dedication to guaranteeing the construction and meticulous upkeep of public infrastructure to meet the state’s dynamic needs.

Twenty minutes prior to noon, a ceremony to elevate the flag will be conducted at the AYA roundabout in Asokoro. Abdoul Diouf Street, Akenzua Street, Gado Nasko Close, Gnassingbe Eyadema Street, Haile Selassie Street, Julius Nyerere Crescent, Justice Street, and Justice Street are the streets in Asokoro that are slated for renovations, per Ogunleye.

The following streets are located in the vicinity of Justice G. Sowemimo Street: Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Aya Ramp, Aya Roundabout, Usman Fodio Crescent, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Muhammadu Ribadu Street, J. F. Kennedy Street, Ali Akilu Crescent, and Roseline Ukeje Close; Kwame Nkrumah Crescent, Kyari Mohammed Crescent, Maitama Sule Street, Nelson Mandela Street, Patrice Lumumba Street; Samora Machel Street; Udo Udoma Street; Ukpabi Asika Street; Kwame Nkrumah Crescent,

In this regard, developers congratulate Wike on the certificate of occupancy issued. In the Federal Capital Territory, Wike issues a cautionary message regarding encroachment on educational property.
Wike has delegated the responsibility of providing the requisite infrastructure for the construction of justice residences to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
“Addis Ababa Street, Lumsar Street, Manzini Street, Benghazi Street, Manapulane +Casamance Street, Bamenda Street, Lukulu Street, Kamina Street, Tamale Street, Matadi Street, Algeria Street, ASBA/Dantata Street, Off Ring Road-2, Queen Elizebeth Street, and Gashua Close, Area-8, Gark” are additional locations beyond Asokoro where Wike commends the Nigerian armed forces for their selfless service to the nation.

For the purpose of ensuring the seamless operation of the restoration works, the Federal Highway Traffic Administration (FCTA) wishes to inform the public that the impacted roads will be partially closed to traffic and drivers will be redirected to adjacent roads.

Furthermore, it is critical that the public understands that the Federal Road Safety Corps, the police, and the Federal Capital Territory Department of Road Transport Services have been duly notified regarding this exercise. Their presence on the premises will guarantee uninterrupted traffic management and control throughout the entirety of the scheduled rehabilitation period.
