Ogun State Government Offers ₦50m Reward for Info on Finance Director’s Killers

The Ogun State Government has taken a significant step in its quest for justice following the tragic killing of Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the former Director of Finance and Administration associated with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s office. This heartbreaking incident occurred last Wednesday when Oyekanmi, a 51-year-old chartered accountant, fell victim to a fatal attack by unidentified gunmen at the Kuto Flyover Bridge in Abeokuta.

The late Oyekanmi, accompanied by two others, was ambushed by these gun-wielding criminals while returning to the Governor’s Office. It’s reported that they were carrying a substantial amount of money withdrawn from two major commercial banks within Abeokuta metropolis.

Expressing profound sadness over the loss, Governor Dapo Abiodun conveyed the devastation and trauma felt by his entire cabinet. Determined not to let this heinous crime go unpunished, the Governor has pledged to leave no stone unturned until the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In a recent statement, the Ogun State Government declared a state ₦50 million reward for any individual providing credible information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for Oyekanmi’s untimely demise. The state government emphasizes that information provided will be handled with utmost confidentiality, encouraging citizens to come forward and assist in unraveling the mystery behind this tragic incident.

This move by the government signifies a commitment to ensuring justice for the grieving family, colleagues, and the people of Ogun State who mourn the loss of a dedicated public servant.
