In a declaration on Thursday, President Bola Tinubu vowed to ensure justice for the drone bombing incident that claimed the lives of over 100 individuals in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

The Nigerian Army took responsibility for the tragic event, which occurred during the Maulud celebration on Sunday at 9 pm.

Addressing the heart-wrenching situation, Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Tinubu, conveyed the President’s deep concern and commitment to accountability. “Every effort will be made to uncover the truth, and those found responsible will face the consequences,” stated Shettima.

Tinubu, through Shettima, assured that victims would be supported through the FULAKO Initiative, set to kick off this month. The FULAKO Initiative, designed as a non-kinetic response to challenges in the North West, will cover states including Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and Benue.

During a visit to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital to offer condolences to the victims, Shettima emphasized the government’s commitment to preventing similar incidents. Tudun Biri is slated to be the first community rebuilt under the new initiative.

Shettima underscored the importance of a thorough investigation into the tragic incident and the need to address its root causes. The government expressed solidarity with the affected community, promising comprehensive support.

At the Sir Kashim Government House, Shettima met with religious leaders, traditional figures, and community representatives, reiterating the President’s dedication to finding lasting solutions. He praised Governor Uba Sani for fostering unity among religious leaders during these trying times.

Governor Sani, appreciating Tinubu’s high-powered delegation, assured the community of compensation and rebuilding efforts for the victims. Speakers at the gathering echoed the call for a meticulous investigation and fair compensation for the families of those affected.

The President, as conveyed by Shettima, assured that the Federal Government supports the people of Kaduna State. They promise to act quickly to ensure those responsible for the incident face justice and to prevent such events from happening again in the future.
