Super Eagles AFCoN 2023 Squad: Ahmed Musa, Troost-Ekong Return; New Faces Announced

The Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Jose Peseiro, unveiled Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Notable returns include captain Ahmed Musa and vice-captain William Troost-Ekong, alongside fresh faces like Stanley Nwabali and Olorunleke Ojo.

The roster also features talents like Sadiq Umar, Raphael Onyedika, Victor Osimhen, and Victor Boniface.

The comprehensive squad comprises goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Stanley Nwabali, and Olorunleke Ojo, along with defenders Troost-Ekong, Omeruo, Bassey, Aina, Sanusi, Onyemaechi, Osayi-Samuel, Ajayi, and Awaziem.

The midfield sees the likes of Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyedika, Onyeka, and Aribo while Osimhen, Boniface, Simon, Musa, Umar, Lookman, Iheanacho, and Chukwueze strengthen the forward line.

In the tournament’s group stage, Nigeria is scheduled to face Equatorial Guinea’s Nzalang Nacional on January 14th, followed by matches against hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau on subsequent dates.
