SHARE

In a sad incident, the goalkeeper and assistant coach of a popular Algerian football team, MC El Bayadh, lost their lives in a bus crash. The team was heading to Tizi Ouzou for a match against JS Kabylie when the accident occurred. To show respect for the tragedy, the Algerian Football Federation decided to stop all football activities across the country this weekend.

The bus crashed in Tiaret, about 150 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. Although the cause of the accident wasn’t explained, the federation took this step to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and give everyone time to mourn.

Aside from the lives lost, ten other players from MC El Bayadh were injured in the crash. This heartbreaking event has deeply affected Algerian football, leading to the decision to postpone all football-related events for the weekend.

Additionally, the draw for the next round of Algeria’s main cup competition, initially planned for December 26, will be moved to a later date. This allows the football community to cope with this significant loss. The Algerian football family joins together in sorrow, remembering the valuable contributions of those who are no longer with us.
