13 Dead, 7 Critically Injured in a Collision

A fatal accident occurred on a Friday evening involving two vehicles – a Toyota Corolla and a commercial Nissan bus – due to excessive speed and wrongful overtaking by the driver carrying a bride and her guests.

The collision resulted in the loss of control, with 13 fatalities and seven critically injured individuals. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Niger State, Tsukwan Kumar, confirmed the incident.

The victims were identified as eight female adults, four male adults, and one male child who died, while four female adults, one male adult, one male child, and one female child were injured. Injured individuals were taken to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Bida for treatment, and the deceased were handed over to relatives or taken to the mortuary. The victims’ belongings were handed over to the police outpost in Wuya.
