The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasiru Muazu-Danmusa, verified the incident, expressing condemnation for the attack. He disclosed that six villagers fell victim to the bandits, while security forces neutralized approximately 26 bandits during the confrontation.

Dr. Muazu-Danmusa also mentioned that the bandits laid an ambush for the traders, causing casualties and injuries, including two security personnel. He added that around 16 terrorists were reportedly killed by security forces at the scene, with others fleeing with gunshot wounds.

The Commissioner highlighted the state’s progress in combating criminal activities such as cattle rustling, banditry, and kidnapping since Governor Dikko Radda took office. He stated that there has been a significant reduction in these crimes, with reports indicating a decrease of about 60%. However, he noted that the attackers have adapted their methods due to this progress.
