Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, emphasised the need for patience and experience in governance during his address at the inauguration of several projects in Surulere.

He emphasised the need for public workers to focus on improving people’s lives as their ultimate legacy. Gbajabiamila praised alliances that aided in completing various projects and reviewed his 20-year political career, highlighting accomplishments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and energy distribution.

Among the notable projects that were inaugurated were a cutting-edge conference centre at LASU, an 80-bed General Hospital, road infrastructure, and community development centres. The rebuilt hospital has cutting-edge facilities for providing specialised care and meeting healthcare needs.

The collaboration between Gbajabiamila and Governor Sanwo-Olu was praised, with the latter expressing gratitude and emphasising its alignment with the THEMES goal. Sanwo-Olu announced intentions to create a medical university in partnership with federal authorities, with the goal of producing 1,500 doctors per year to address the shortfall of medical personnel caused by emigration.

This strategic intervention aims to keep medical expertise in the country while also improving Lagos State’s medical infrastructure.
