Minister of Sports Lauds Tinubu for N12 Billion Disbursement to Nigeria’s National Teams

Senator John Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the disbursement of N12 billion to settle outstanding payments to Nigeria’s national teams.

Enoh highlighted the positive impact of the financial injection on the morale of the Super Eagles players as they gear up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire. The funds will cover 15 months’ salaries for senior national team coaches and bonuses owed to both old and junior national teams, male and female.

The minister commended President Tinubu’s commitment to sports, emphasizing that the approval reflects his love for the sector. Enoh acknowledged Tinubu’s dedication to sports development, exemplified by establishing a standalone Ministry for Sports Development. He assured Nigerians that the Super Eagles are fully prepared to make the nation proud at the AFCON.
