Simi admits that she has never thought of marrying someone like Adekunle Gold

Award-winning Nigerian songstress Simi, born Simisola Kosoko, opened up about how her husband Adekunle Gold’s profession may have complicated their relationship.

The “Gone For Good” crooner admitted she was unaware of Adekunle Gold’s career as a musician until they coincidentally met at an event, which struck her as peculiar.

As a mother of one, Simi disclosed her initial resolve never to marry a musician, not realizing her boyfriend’s profession during their courtship.

Speaking on the latest episode of the show “Tea with Tay,” hosted by media personality Taymesan, Simi shared that Adekunle Gold initially approached her as a fan.

Despite her preconceptions, Simi revealed that she continued to date Adekunle Gold, unaware of his musical pursuits, simply because he was a kind-hearted person.

“When I first encountered my husband, I wasn’t aware he was a singer because I had already decided I couldn’t marry a singer. I didn’t know he was singing; I think he was even a fan,” Simi said.
