AFCON 2023 Awards Revealed: Ivory Coast Sweeps Best Coach and Young Player Accolades
The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) concluded with Ivory Coast defeating Nigeria 2-1 in the final match.
The awards were presented to the tournament’s best performers, with South Africa’s Ronwen Williams winning Best Goalkeeper and South Africa also receiving the Fair Play Team Award.
Emilio Nsue of Equatorial Guinea claimed the Golden Boot with five goals, while Nigeria’s William Troost-Ekong was awarded the Golden Ball.
Simon Adingra from Ivory Coast received the Best Young Player Award, and Emerse Faé, also from Ivory Coast, won the Best Coach Award.
