Afenifere, a socio-political group representing the Yoruba people, has appealed to fellow Yorubas not to participate in the protest organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on February 27 and 28.

The NLC planned the protest to highlight the economic challenges faced by Nigerians. Afenifere’s leader, Reuben Fasoranti, emphasized the importance of patience and understanding, urging citizens to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions.

Fasoranti highlighted President Tinubu’s efforts to address the inherited economic challenges since assuming office in May 2023.

He acknowledged the hardships faced by Nigerians but emphasized that the government’s economic measures are part of a broader strategy to restore prosperity and stability.

Fasoranti called for trust in the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens, despite the challenges posed by Tinubu’s economic reforms.
