On Monday, February 5th, Buckingham Palace disclosed that King Charles has been diagnosed with cancer, leading him to defer his public commitments for medical attention.

The diagnosis emerged subsequent to treatment for a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate. Following medical intervention, doctors identified a distinct health issue and conducted additional assessments.

The palace statement revealed that during the King’s recent hospitalization for benign prostate enlargement, medical professionals identified an additional concern, leading to further diagnostic tests that confirmed a cancer diagnosis.

As part of his treatment plan, the King has commenced regular medical appointments, prompting his advisors to recommend postponing public engagements. Despite this adjustment, he will continue to fulfill his official duties and administrative responsibilities.

Expressing gratitude to his medical team for their prompt action, the King remains optimistic about his treatment and anticipates resuming full public duties soon. He chose to disclose his diagnosis to dispel any speculation and hopes that sharing his experience will provide understanding to others affected by cancer worldwide.

After spending three nights at the London Clinic for treatment, the King was discharged last Monday, accompanied by Queen Camilla, who assured reporters of his well-being. The royal couple made a public appearance on Sunday, attending a church service together, where the King appeared in good spirits, waving to well-wishers outside St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.
