In a statement, Imasuen, affectionately dubbed ‘the guvnor’, revealed that the remake would feature a mix of original cast members and fresh faces, including Chidi Mokeme, Regina Daniels, Nosa Rex, Iyabo Ojo, Sanni Danga, and Alex Osifo.

Joining the ensemble cast are Phyna, Mark Angel, Francis Onwochei, Charles Okafor, Ben Olaye, and more, promising an exciting blend of seasoned performers and emerging talents.

Imasuen attributed the decision to revisit ‘Issakaba’ to overwhelming demand from fans across various social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, showcasing the enduring popularity of the original film.

The original ‘Issakaba’ movie captivated audiences with its gripping portrayal of the ‘Bakassi Boys’, a community vigilante group combating crimes like armed robbery and murder. It also depicted the resilience of Aba’s shoemakers in the face of armed gangs, highlighting their determination to fight back using traditional policing methods.

The term ‘Issakaba’ has come to symbolize truth, justice, and fairness, resonating deeply with audiences then and now.
