Table Water Producers Express Concerns Over Rising Production Costs and Hint at Possible ₦100 Price sachet

SHARE

The Association of Table Waters Producers (ATWAP) expressed concerns about the rising cost of producing pure water, suggesting that the price may reach ₦100 per sachet due to increased production expenses.

They highlighted challenges such as high diesel prices, power shortages, and soaring production costs, attributing the current price of water to these factors.

A spokesperson mentioned that material costs have tripled in recent months, making it challenging to maintain the current price of ₦50 per sachet.

They emphasized the industry’s reliance on personal funds or loans, as banks are often unwilling to provide loans to water producers.

Despite the difficulties, they urged Nigerians to understand the situation and hoped to keep water prices affordable, ideally not exceeding N20 per sachet.
