The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Nyesom Wike, has announced a reward of ₦20 million for the capture of two notorious kidnappers, Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim, who have been causing havoc in the nation’s capital.

These suspects, originally from Niger State, are known for their involvement in the abduction of two military personnel at an Army Estate and various other prominent individuals in Abuja.

Additionally, they are linked to the gang responsible for the murder of a district head in Abuja and the kidnapping of residents in Kabusa, Kutu, and surrounding villages within the FCT.

During a meeting with the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, Wike emphasized his administration’s commitment to eliminating criminals and ensuring the safety of FCT residents.

Wike further pledged a bounty of ₦20 million for anyone who provides information leading to the capture of these wanted criminals, stressing the urgency to apprehend them.

The Police Commissioner revealed that seven members of the kidnapping gang, including Usman Muhazu, Aliyu Muhammed, and others, were apprehended in Pyankasa, Tudun Wada, and Ketti village, following intelligence reports.

However, two key suspects, Dahiru Adamu and Abu Ibrahim, remain at large, with their wives apprehended while attempting to collect a ransom on their behalf.

The gang members were responsible for multiple kidnappings and the murder of a district head, among other crimes, prompting intensified efforts by law enforcement to bring them to justice.

During the operation, a total of 23 suspects, including one-chance criminals and armed robbers, were arrested, and significant quantities of cash (₦9 million), firearms, bulletproof vests, and communication devices were seized.
