The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has taken steps to address the welfare concerns faced by magistrates, judges, and staff in the lower courts.

These courts, including the Magistracy, Area Courts, Customary Courts, and Sharia Courts, play a crucial role in ensuring quick, efficient, and cost-effective access to justice for citizens at the grassroots level.

Justice Ariwoola emphasized the importance of proactive measures to alleviate difficulties and enhance overall welfare during a refresher course for magistrates and judges of the lower courts

He urged them to act with candor, integrity, and adherence to the law when dealing with court users, emphasizing the need to bolster trust and confidence in the justice system.

As the CJN encourages transparency and openness, he recognizes that the challenges faced by judicial officers are multifaceted.

Their commitment to fair and efficient justice delivery remains pivotal, and ongoing efforts to improve welfare underscore the significance of their role in the justice system.
