Australia’s superstar captain, Samantha Kerr, will go to trial next year for allegedly harassing a police officer in a racially aggravated manner.

The incident occurred in Twickenham, southwest London, on January 30 last year. Kerr, who is 30 years old, appeared in Kingston Crown Court via videolink and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The trial is scheduled for next February, during which two police officers will testify. The footballer’s defense claims that her intent was not to upset the policeman.

Meanwhile, Kerr, who has scored 99 goals in 128 matches for Chelsea since 2019, is currently recovering from a long-term anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained during a warm-weather training camp in Morocco in January.
