Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua is elected as the new chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum amid controversy
Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, representing the APC in Katsina Central, has been voted as the new chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum (NSF), following Senator Abdul Ningi’s departure from the PDP-Bauchi Central.
Ningi resigned down after being suspended for falsely alleging that the 2024 Appropriation Act was inflated with N3.7 trillion.
However, Solomon Adeola, chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, explained that the alleged padding referred to provisions for statutory transfers to government organs via direct line charges.
The NSF officially announced Yar’Adua’s appointment in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which was read in plenary.
