SSANU Plans Seven-Day Strike Over Unpaid Salaries

SHARE

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) plans to go on strike for seven days starting March 18.

They’re upset because the government hasn’t paid them for four months, despite promising to do so. Even though the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) got paid, SSANU didn’t.

SSANU decided to strike during their meeting at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State.

Their president, Mohammed Ibrahim, said they won’t accept this unfair treatment. During the strike, there will be no services on campuses for seven days, like water, electricity, medical help, or office work.

They hope the government will listen and pay them, but they’re ready to strike if they have to.
