Tragedy Strikes: Stray Bullet Claims Life, Sparks Community Outrage. There was chaos when a stray bullet, reportedly fired by the police, killed a Hausa resident at Benin/Asaba Road, near Igueomo Junction.

The victim, whose identity is yet to be known, was hit by the bullet on Wednesday evening while standing in front of a POS operator’s house. He had gone there to send ₦4000 to his wife in his hometown.

According to a source, police officers were in the area to arrest some troublemakers. During the chase, they fired their guns at the fleeing individuals, accidentally hitting the victim.

The incident caused outrage among the predominantly Hausa residents, who blocked the road in protest. They damaged police vehicles and set up roadblocks, leaving commuters stranded on both sides of the highway.
