A 400,000-liter Illegal AGO Bunker Worth N500 Million Found in Lekki Residence by Nigerian Navy
A 400,000-liter illicit Automated Gas Oil (AGO) bunker at a private property in Lekki, Lagos, was found by Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT operations after receiving information about a gas tanker loading at Elegushi Beach.
A number of petroleum goods were seized after the suspects, who operated an unregistered corporation, were captured.
Commodore Rafiu Taye Oladejo emphasised the economic and security ramifications of such illicit activity.
If fully used, the storage facilities were anticipated to be worth N500 million. Following orders from the Chief of Naval Staff, the Navy continues to be aggressive in combating oil theft.
