Radio station in Delta state Warri engulfed with fire as properties worth millions lost~details below

 A popular radio station known as (Rize FM) had engulfed with fire on Thursday in Ogunu Warri South Delta state, the radio station is reportedly owned by a private individual.

following the fire incident a total of property lost amounted to over N300 million naira that was destroyed during the inferno.

According to report the fire was triggered by an electrical fault and its started at early hours of the morning.

Eye witness who also noted that a smoke were goofing out without being well noticed until it became a wild fire.

However, fiire fighters who came for the rescue battled the fire to put it out good neighbors around the area also join hands.

While no casualty was recorded, the storey building, with broadcast equipment worth millions of naira, was destroyed.

A statement by the Head of Station, Laju Awala, said that the “fire razed down the entire top floor of the building housing the three studios of the organisation, the transmitting room, broadcasting equipment, the news and current affairs department, computer system and other major offices and belongings of the organisation estimated at over N250million.”

The statement thanked the Delta State Fire Service, Shell Fire Service and other friends of the station who “responded to distress calls and worked collectively to put the fire out.”

It said: “Management is making efforts to get the station back on air. It appeals for support from the public and organisations.”

Command spokesman DSP Bright Edafe said the incident was caused by an electrical spark.
