UBA Plc was awarded the title of African Bank of the Year at The Bankers Awards 2023.
The Financial Times of London, the largest daily focused on business news globally, coordinated the Bankers Awards 2023 in collaboration with The Banker Magazine.
The 2023 Bank of the Year Africa award from UBA has solidified its dominant position across the African continent. UBA subsidiaries were awarded the title “Bank of the Year” in eight of the 20 African states.
The successful subsidiaries are UBA Cameroon, Chad, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Mozambique, Congo, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania, showcasing the bank’s robustness and influence in many African markets. The UBA received the regional accolade for being the finest African bank in 2021, marking its second triumph in a span of three years.
Oliver Alawuba, the Group Managing Director of UBA, expressed gratitude to the winners. According to him, the awards demonstrate that the bank is progressing in solidifying its position as a leader in Africa and generating excellent value for its stakeholders.
UBA received the Bank of the Year award in eight countries and was honoured with the African Award. The whole UBA team’s collective efforts, diligence, dedication, and ingenuity were instrumental in achieving this outcome.
